BIG Koordinierung (BIG Coordination)

Coordination and networking

An effective support system needs smooth coordination. Although many Berlin projects and involved parties are already well connected, the overall structure of the support system against domestic violence remains very complex.  BIG analyzes intervention procedures so as to identify weak points and flaws in the support system’s constitution. Thus the effect of measures taken can be thoroughly evaluated.  In addition, we strive to intensify communication and cooperative relations between all the parties that are involved in interventions against domestic violence (e.g. police, youth welfare agencies, judiciary system, women’s projects). We also aim at implementing coordinated procedures. Here are some of the most prominent BIG measures:

Assignment of interdisciplinary expert committees that optimize or develop measures for individual cases and structural problems or action plans Extensive authorization and distribution of information on effective intervention concepts for all relevant professions.
